The nationwide lockdown due to Coronavirus has turned lives upside down for many, especially the busy professionals who aren’t used to being cooped up at home. However, actor Dia Mirza isn’t distressed by it. “To be home means being safe, comfortable and lucky. While I’m a social person, I’m quite comfortable leading a domesticated, simple life,” she shares.
However, Mirza, 38, can’t overlook the plight of the less fortunate people right now, especially the migrants, and also is grateful to those fighting on the front lines. “I feel immense gratitude for the municipal workers, police, bureaucrats, people working in the supply chain and sanitation workers. The list is long, but these people are committed to fighting this,” she explains, adding that there’s a streak of positivity in this situation.
“The boundaries that divide us — country, class, culture, religion — are all invisible right now,” she says, and feels that this has been a wake-up call to city dwellers to take note of what damage they have done. “People are talking about how Nature is getting an opportunity to heal,” she says.
