We had told you quite some time back about Bollywood and cricket frat’s hottest new couple — Athiya Shetty and K L Rahul. The two, who started out as good friends, began dating a while later, but neither has spoken openly about their relationship, though they haven’t denied it either. Now, in the world of social media where a picture is worth a thousand words, saying it out aloud in words and prose is not the only way to go, right? While Rahul was the first to go ‘Insta official’ by posting a fun picture with his lady love, his girl has finally made it public, too, in her own special way.

On the occasion of her cricketer beau’s birthday on Saturday, Athiya posted a candid throwback picture of the two on social media. She captioned it as, ‘Happy birthday, my person’ (with a heart emoji).

A source close to the two, revealed, “This is the first time that they will be celebrating his birthday as a couple, though not physically with each other. Under normal circumstances (if the Coronavirus lockdown wasn’t implemented), the IPL would have been going on. So, unless Athiya travelled to be with him while he was touring across India for the matches, they would have still been apart. Also, she is an extremely private person, so it is unlikely that she would accompany him. She is not the kind to go to the stadium and watch him play. At least, not at the moment. This, of course, could change in the near future. Love changes everything.”

Given the ongoing lockdown, Rahul, who stays in Bengaluru and Athiya, who is based in Mumbai, celebrated the day over long video chats and we are sure, unending phone conversations.
