THAPPAD dropped 10% on its first Wednesday as it collected 1.75 crore nett. It is a normal drop for Wednesday and actually maybe better than normal for a Wednesday but the problem is that the film cannot really afford to have any drops.

The film needed to hold out in the 2 crore nett range on the weekdays till Thursday to have an outside chance of success and now that is out of the window. The film has yet to reach 20 crore nett after six days and has collected 19.50 crore nett so far. The week should finish at 21.50 crore nett which is lower than CHHAPAAK (26.23 crore) but better than PANGA (15.25 crore). It makes the second best performer of this family and being second best of a dud family is hardly an achievement.
