BOMBAY TIMES (March 4, 2020)

After joining hands for the first time to deliver the 2019 hit, Kabir Singh, producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani are coming together for their fourth film. They will jointly produce an action thriller — Hindi remake of the South hit, Thadam — with Sidharth Malhotra. The duo had earlier announced the Kartik Aaryan-starrer, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and a Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directorial as their future projects.

The yet-to-be titled film, directed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar, will mark Sidharth’s first outing in a double role. The actor, who has been a part of action films earlier, will be seen in two completely different avatars. The movie will have a start-to-finish schedule, which will begin in May in Delhi. The crew is currently busy locking locations.

Talking about the film, which marks his fourth association with Murad and second with Sidharth, Bhushan Kumar says, “Working with Murad bhai is fun and smooth. We share the same love and passion for films and hence, our collaborations have always been successful. After he mentioned Thadam, and I read the Hindi script, it was an instant yes from my side. It was a unanimous decision to get Sidharth on board, and we are sure that he will surprise the audience with this film. Vardhan has previously worked with one of the best directors in the industry and he is apt to lead this project.”

Murad Khetani adds, “I saw Thadam in its release week and absolutely loved it, especially after knowing that it’s based on a real incident. I approached the Tamil makers immediately and bought the rights for its Hindi remake. Sidharth was my first choice and when I approached him, he instantly agreed to come on board. I share a wonderful relationship with Bhushan ji. After the success of Kabir Singh, this is our fourth collaboration with T-Series. We are also looking forward to working with Vardhan, who is making his directorial debut with this film.”

Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, this yet-untitled film will release on November 20.
