BAAGHI 3 has had a good first weekend of 52.75 crore nett. The film has the baggage of an extraordinary 72 crore nett weekend of the last film of the franchise but as a standalone film these numbers for the first weekend are good.

The Sunday number of nearly 20 crore nett is solid result for the film considering it had clocked up just 15.50 crore nett on Saturday. It was not going to be an easy task to get over the first day business on Sunday but the film has managed that comfortably. The issue facing the film is very average response in the bigger cities be it a Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore or Chandigarh while collections in places like Patna, Surat, Agra and Bhopal are good and even very good.

Its not multiplex or single screen specific in these places, the multiplexes in Patna and Surat have scored as well as the single screen. The problem lies in the 200-300 bigger multiplexes where there are higher ticket rates and its these which could have added another 8-10 crore nett to the weekend box office if they had performed.

There is the Holi period from Monday onward with the big holiday falling on Tuesday which will see very strong occupancy from the afternoon shows. The film could have got a Monday boost at metros as its a holiday the next day day but the business of the film is not so good at these metros which may mean the normal Monday drop for the film.

BAAGHI 3 had a fair hold on Monday as it collected 8.75 crore nett. The drop on Monday is the regular 50% drop but its coming off a 17 crore nett plus total on day one which gives the film a solid Monday figures. The four day business of the film is now 61.50 crore nett.

The film is a success as it will get a good boost today and collections should easily go into double digits and it could even be at 75 crore nett after five days though a lot depends on the jump today. With 75 crore nett there in five days, its pretty certain the film is going over 100 crore nett which is enough for the film to be a success.

For the film to emerge a HIT, it has to do a little better and it will probably be the second Friday which will determine if the film can become a HIT. The film has scored very well in Gujarat/Saurashtra as it just 10% lower than BAAGHI 2 there while all the all India difference is around 25% after four days. The falls were more than 50% in West Bangal and Mysore but the franchise has not done too well in these circuits.
