Sonnalli Seygall recently spoke to us about the failure of her latest release, her equation with Kartik Aaryan and more. Read on:
‘I’VE NOT BEEN IDLE SINCE THE RELEASE OF JAI MUMMY DI’
Sonnalli’s last release, Jai Mummy Di, which had her sharing screen space with Sunny Singh, underperformed at the box office. A disappointed Sonnalli said, “I was heartbroken because we expected a lot from the film. But people liked my performance, character and look in the film. The songs are also still doing well.” She added, “As actors, our job is to do the film and promote it. The rest depends on the film’s fate.”
The actress, who is now back at work, said, “I have not been idle for even a single day since the release. The film definitely gave me more opportunities. I have signed another film, featured in two music videos and I am doing a lot of shows. Life has been great.”
‘KARTIK IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST GUYS I’VE MET’
Sonnalli had made her debut in 2011 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, alongside a bunch of newcomers, including Kartik Aaryan. While the latter has become immensely popular, almost a household name now, Sonnalli is yet to enjoy that kind of fame.
Opening up on her present equation with Kartik, she said, “Kartik is a great friend. We all are on our individual journeys in this industry. I feel extremely happy and very motivated when someone I started with in the industry does well. It goes for Kartik as well as Luv Ranjan sir. People doing so well gives you hope that despite not being from the industry, it is possible for you to reach those heights.”
She added, “I am happy for Kartik. We share a great bond. He is one of the funniest guys I’ve met. All these issues like competition and rumours that we are not friends anymore etc., are imagined by people. They are not at all true.”
Talking about the kind of projects she wants to do, Sonnalli said, “I would love to do an action film and a modern slice-of-life drama. Since I am trained in martial arts, it would come in handy if I get an opportunity to do an action film.”
