For Angad Bedi, shooting back-to-back projects have been a revelation of sorts. From playing a defense counsel in the web show, The Verdict: State v/s Nanavati to an army man in the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, to a star cricketer in an upcoming web show, it has been quite a ride.
A source says, “As much as the process of shifting between characters is enjoyable, it also takes away a lot from actors. Each of these parts have proven to be emotionally draining for Angad. But, when he discussed this with his family and peers, he realised that many actors, with their hectic schedules, go through this surge of emotional vulnerability and exhaustion.”
Angad shares, “At first, I felt pangs of separation from Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. I loved the experience of shooting, the character and camaraderie on sets. Then, I went on to playing a cricketer’s role in my upcoming web show. I feel, male actors have the stigma of not discussing the emotional repercussions of what playing a character does to them. But, I want to let it out of my system and beat this code of silence men follow. Each of these characters left me a little chipped and I have worked extra hard to get back on my feet each time. Thankfully, as an actor, I have never felt better about working. I have never worked harder in my life and I hope such roles that take away my breath from me keep happening to me again and again. I want to be a volatile, vulnerable and emotional actor who lives every beat of a character.”
