What happens when two good dancers come together to perform to a song? Well, they don’t need hours of rehearsals and sometimes, not even a choreographer, to put their best foot forward. Something similar happened during the shoot of Sanedo, the latest song to be released from the film, Made In China.

The classic dandiya number has been recreated by Sachin-Jigar, and has been sung by the composer duo along with Mika Singh, Nikhita Gandhi and Benny Dayal. We hear that the lead pair, Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy, took it upon themselves to choreograph a garba sequence in the number, adhering to director Mikhil Musale’s requirement to keep the Gujarati vibe alive. Mikhil asked the screen pair to just have fun and flow with the rhythm of the song.

Mouni shares, “We have a small garba sequence in the film as well, which was choreographed by Vijay Ganguly. Taking cues from the song, Raj (Rajkummar Rao) and I decided to try our hands at some garba steps in Sanedo. Mikhil’s only brief to us was to enjoy ourselves while performing the dance. Given our love for dance, it was like leaving two kids at a candy store. Raj and I just went all out.”

Rajkummar adds, “I love garba as a dance form. While shooting for Sanedo, Mikhil’s brief to us was to let loose and add our bit to the choreography, wherever we wanted. Keeping up with this classic Navratri number, Mouni and I decided to break into our own version of an impromptu garba.”
