Actress Evelyn Sharma, who has been dating Australian dental surgeon and entrepreneur, Dr Tushaan Bhindi, for over a year now, got engaged to him on Saturday. It was quite romantic, we hear, as he proposed to her on the famous Harbour Bridge in Sydney. The setting was perfect — Tushaan arranged for a guitarist to play their favourite songs in the background, while he went down on a knee and read out a special note penned by him. Speaking to Bombay Times exclusively, Evelyn revealed, “It was a dream come true! Tushaan knows me so well… his proposal was perfect!”

Sharing details about their love story, she said, “We met on a blind date last year, which was set up by our good friend. Tushaan is a romantic guy and he’s even more filmy than I am,” she smiles.

The couple got along instantly with their shared passion for philanthropic causes. Friends of the two say it was love at first sight and that they were anticipating the big announcement to happen soon. But the couple decided to introduce each other to their respective families first to get their blessings, and then, move ahead with the engagement during Navratri, as it is an auspicious time.

When asked if they have set a date for the wedding, she replies, “We will make a separate announcement for that once the date is set. For now, we would like to enjoy our time together.” Once that happens, will Evelyn shift to Australia? “I would love to shift base to Australia. Sydney is one of my favourite cities in the world, but we will always have one base in India, too. It is our home after all,” says the overjoyed actress.
