Mirror had recently reported (June 12) that Salman Khan, who is producing the upcoming ninth season of Nach Baliye, has added a twist to the show by adding former couples to the roster of contestants. Now, we have learnt that Mouni Roy has come on board as the opening act for the dance-based reality show. The actress will also introduce a pair of contestants with Salman.

The TV actress, who made her big screen debut with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold last year and is a trained classical dancer, recently shot for a Kathak performance on the Kalank song “Ghar More Pardesiya”, among other tracks, for the opening episode.

According to a source close to the development, Mouni rehearsed for several days as it is a long performance. “While it has been pre-recorded for the premiere, she will join Salman and the contestants for the shoot again for a brief segment,” the source added.

While interacting with Mirror earlier, the actress had said, “I would love to do something related to Kathak and other classical dance forms. That’s something I have dreamt of doing since I was a little girl.”

On the work front, she will next be seen as an antagonist in Ayan Mukerji’s Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer action-fantasy, Brahmastra.
