ARTICLE 15 had good growth of 50% plus on its second Saturday as it collected 7.25 crore for a two day total of 12 crore nett. The growth is normal for a content film which is mainly collecting at metro multiplexes. A few years ago this would have been huge growth but box office trends have changed and generally the Saturday growth is higher today.
The film still has a long way to go and it will be about the business on the weekdays. Mumbai circuit could be an issue going forward as the collections are good enough in Mumbai and Pune but maybe not as strong as they should be considering the huge media support. These two cities and Bangalore tend to record better collections for these small films when the media gives heavy support (THE TASHKENT FILES is not included as that film was a one off).
The collections of ARTICLE 15 for the first two days are as follows.
Friday - 4,75,00,000
Saturday - 7,25,00,000
TOTAL - 12,00,00,000 apprx
ANNABELLE COMES HOME also managed some solid growth on Saturday despite it being the third day for this film. The film has collected 13 crore nett in 3 days. The solid growth all round this Saturday could also be because of the cricket as some of the audience that would have watched on Sunday have come in on Saturday.
The three day figures for ANNABELLE COMES HOME are as follows.
Thursday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 5,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 13,00,00,000 apprx
