Shunning preconceived notions of the way women must be interpreted based on their attitude, Kareena Kapoor Khan, with her web show, What Women Want, caught the attention of a global audience. Having bagged a spot as contender of the New York Festival Radio Award's Talk Show Host title, Kapoor tells mid-day that it was the effort taken by the team to celebrate women who broke stereotypes that earned them acclaim.

"The show brought women from different walks of life to the fore. These were women who weren't defined by labels; those who broke stereotypes and norms," says the actor, quick to credit her entire team for the honour bestowed on them. Among those who featured on her show were Sunny Leone, who spoke about her controversial career choices, Malaika Arora, who discussed her divorce from producer Arbaaz Khan, and Zoya Akhtar, who batted for workplace equality.

Currently vacationing in Tuscany with husband Saif Ali Khan and son Taimur, Kapoor is glad her debut stint as host resulted in a show that women could connect with. While rumours are rife that a second season is on the cards, Kapoor dismisses it with a pithy: "It's too soon to talk about it."

For now, she is looking forward to joining the cast of Angrezi Medium, which pairs her with Irrfan Khan.
