Actor is taking a two-day break from the schedule of Rohit Shetty’s next in Hyderabad to shoot for another song in fourth Housefull film

Mirror had recently reported (May 21) that after announcing the wrap on his next, the Farhad Samji-directed ensemble comedy Housefull 4, Akshay Kumar and his co-stars, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda, had reunited to shoot for a special song at a city studio. The song also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a guest turn as an exorcist who introduces a plot twist. The team shot with 300 background dancers over four days for the track, and also filmed a few conversational scenes. Now, we have learnt that the team of this Sajid Nadiadwala production is reuniting once again to shoot for another song in Mumbai.

The reincarnation comedy is divided into two parts—the present and the “Baahubali era”, with the latter being a comical take on S S Rajamouli’s period-drama. A source close to the development revealed that the song is a dance number and will also form a part of the narrative in the modern portion of the story. “It’s composed by Sohail Sen, and all the six actors will shoot for it on June 28 and 29,” the source added.

The song will be choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who has previously worked with Akshay on Khiladi 786, De Dana Dan, Phir Hera Pheri, Aitraaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Ajnabee and Mr & Mrs Khiladi. “It’s a grand set-up with 200-250 background dancers. The team has rehearsed with Ganesh several times before the shoot,” the source informed.

Akshay, who is currently in Hyderabad shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi along with Katrina Kaif, will take a break from the cop-drama to join his Housefull 4 co-stars in Mumbai for the two-day schedule. The film is up for a Diwali release this year and is currently in the post-production stage. “It’s a scaled-up film, the biggest in the franchise in terms of budget. The chunk from the Baahubali era that required visual effects were shot much in advance. A team is working on the final edit and VFX,” the source shared.
