BT was the first to tell you that Kareena Kapoor Khan would be making her debut on television, as a judge on Dance India Dance (DID). Now, in a chat with us, Kareena has spoken about her decision to explore the medium. She says, “I’m not a trained dancer and learnt it on the job. So, I’m going to approach this role in a fun manner. We are not only looking for great dancers on DID, but also performers and stars, who can captivate the audience.”

While many of her peers forayed into TV much earlier, Kareena took her time to join the league. So, what kept her away from the small screen for so long? “I have made a conscious decision to not crowd myself with too much work. I’m happy doing good projects, which give me the flexibility to enjoy life on my terms,” she replies.

Buzz is that hers is one of the highest paid debuts on TV. Ask her about it and she says, “Honestly, I don’t get into the numbers, but I do believe that female stars deserve their due and I feel strongly about pay parity.”

Will her presence on TV be limited to just reality shows, or is she open to accepting acting offers, too? “I’m open to any prospect, provided that it excites me,” Kareena signs off.
