Ajay Devgn refutes rumours that their film is shelved

After teaming up for Prakash Jha’s 2010 political drama, Raajneeti, Ajay Devgn is set to collaborate with Ranbir Kapoor again in Luv Ranjan’s yet-untitled film. While some media reports suggested that the project has been shelved, Ajay, while interacting with Mirror, confirmed that it is definitely happening. “Ranbir and I start shooting from next year as planned,” he informed, pointing out that “the film is being scripted”.
Last year, Ajay had announced a biopic on Jaswant Singh Gill titled Capsule Gill. The engineer risked his life by going down a borehole to rescue 65 miners trapped in a coalmine in Raniganj, West Bengal. The incident had grabbed headlines in 1989 and Ajay had been really excited about this true-to-life drama which was supposed to be directed by Tinu Suresh Desai of Rustom fame. However, when quizzed on the project recently, the actor who turns 50 in April, admitted that the film was not happening. “The script did not pan out the way we had envisioned,” he had said shortly.
Presently, Ajay is juggling between promotions of his upcoming adventure comedy, Total Dhamaal, and the shoot of Tanhaji, his 100th film. He plays Subedar Tanhaji Malusare, who fought alongside Shivaji in several battles in the home production which is scheduled to wrap up in May. After that he will fly to Hyderabad to shoot for a extended cameo in Baahubali director SS Rajamouli’s eagerly-awaited RRR which features Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead. He has already wrapped up Luv’s De De Pyaar De, which opens in May, and will soon roll with a sports drama in which he plays the manager of the Indian football team, Syed Abdul Rahim. The film is directed by Badhaai Ho's, Amit Sharma.
