MANIKARNIKA - THE QUEEN OF JHANSI (Hindi) did pretty well in its first week though it was helped by the huge Republic Day holiday on Saturday. The film collected close to 57 crore nett in week one though if the holiday was not there the collections would be around 50-51 crore nett.

The weekdays have actually held well especially considering the response to the film from the audience is not so good. So despite the limited appreciation the film has managed to fair business at the box office but the question is can it continue this way. The collections in Mumbai circuit on Thursday are less than 1 crore nett which is very low and its possible the film will see further drops in the second week. Its Delhi/UP which is holding the film and its collecting more than Mumbai circuit.

The second Friday is crucial for the film as there is a chance the film can still emerge a HIT if it holds strongly but  it will be tough considering the public reports.
