It came as a rude shock when Irrfan Khan in March revealed that he has been diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine Tumour and soon after moved to London for treatment.

He’s been off the radar for over six months now but that hasn’t stopped speculations about his comeback. However, refuting recent reports that he will be returning to work in December with the Hindi Medium sequel, the actor issued a statement saying there is a “possibility of him returning to India after Diwali”.

A source informed Mirror that Irrfan will be in the country for a brief vacation and will be retuning to UK to continue with his treatment. “There are no plans to start work on any project till the doctor gives him a complete clearance on his health,” the source added.

Mirror (September 1) had earlier reported that the actor who is responding well to the treatment is keen to return to the screen with Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh. He loves the script, is in regular touch with the Vicky Donor director and is looking forward to reuniting after the 2015 Piku.

“Irrfan is one of our finest artists and I want him to come back fully recovered and relive all his dreams. Meanwhile, I am completely ready with my prep for the film,” Shoojit had said.
