Mirror had earlier reported (October 5) that Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, along with co-star Kunal Kemmu, kicked off work on the Kargil schedule of Abhishek Varman’s Kalank on Monday. On Wednesday, the leads had a spine-chilling experience while at work.

A source from the sets reveals, “Varun shot for a scene with Alia that required him to be bare-chested despite the minus-three-degree temperature. As a precautionary measure, a doctor was on standby but thankfully Varun completed the shot without any glitches.” The actor was in for some respite after a hard day’s work, when the team utilised the break to visit the army jawans at the border and interacted with them.

The film’s team is set to return to Mumbai next week after shooting some pivotal scenes and a song featuring Varun and Alia, after which they head to central India for another outdoor schedule. While Abhishek is currently working out the location, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur, who play the other central roles in the film, are expected to join the team there. The period drama, which is set in the 1940s, kicked off in May on a set in Mumbai and is targeting wrap-up by November-end.
