Sometimes, actors take a liking to the attires they sport in their films. While some of their costumes give rise to a fashion trend, others hold sentimental value for the star. For example, Deepika Padukone had requested Sanjay Leela Bhansali to let her keep the outfit, which she had worn in the ‘jauhar’ scene in Padmaavat. Now, Sanya Malhotra, who has done her second film, Pataakha with Vishal Bhardwaj, wants to make a similar request to her director.
Quiz her about it and she says, “Pataakha is an extremely special film for me for various reasons. Working with Vishal sir so early on in my career is like a dream come true. The character was completely out of my comfort zone — extremely challenging and that is why it was all the more fun. I surrendered to Vishal sir and just followed his vision. The memories of being a part of this film will be cherished by me for years to come. That is why I have asked him if I could keep an outfit worn by me in a crucial scene — the one in which I get married.”
Pataakha is the story of two sisters, who can’t see eye-to-eye. They have grown up together in a small village in Rajasthan, but when marriage separates them, they realise that they cannot live with or without each other.
