Mirror was the first to report (May 21) that the 1990s hit, “Dilbar,” originally picturised on Sushmita Sen and Sanjay Kapoor in Sirf Tum, was to be recreated for the John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Satyameva Jayate and would feature Nora Fatehi.
We have now learnt that the model–actress is collaborating with popular Moroccan artists Fnaire to make her singing debut with the Arabic version of the song. Fnaire is a group of hip-hop artists native to Marrakech with several successful songs, including “Siri Siri,” to their credit.
“After ‘Dilbar,’ a lot of people from North Africa and Middle East reached out to me for a collaboration and it seemed like a great idea. My larger goal is to bring both the cultures together through music and Fnaire is a well known and respected band in Morocco, North Africa and Middle East. They have been around for 17 years,” Nora informs, adding that the band has composed the song and done its rap portions while she has sung the Arabic lyrics.
Over the weekend, she was at the airport to receive the band. This Saturday, the group will head to Panvel to shoot the music video. “We have recomposed the song but retained the hook-line. I am producing it while T-Series will be launching it,” she reveals.
The video will be choreographed by Bosco-Caesar, while Santhana Krishnan is the DoP. Abderraffia El Abdioui is to direct. “The choreography will be a mix of Bollywood and Moroccan styles. We are wearing lehenga cholis in loud colours, while the boys will be in dhotis and kurtas,” Nora says.
