Aanand L Rai is known in the film industry for his hospitable nature. Those who’ve worked with the director-producer, know him as a man who loves his food and takes delight in extending his gastronomic courtesy to everyone around. Now, the Kahwa (Kashmiri green tea), served at his office and home has become a sort of legend in the industry. So, when Aanand recently renovated his office in Andheri, one of his standing instructions was to not have any tea or coffee vending machines on the office premises.

A source from his office said, “Aanand ji is very particular about his tea. He likes to have it made fresh and with a good dose of ginger. Because of this, he refused to have the management install any tea or coffee vending machines. He didn’t mind an extra 15 minutes being spent on making fresh tea for everyone, but he could not stand the sight of his employees and co-workers having machine-made tea.”
