GOLD had a big drop on Monday as it collected 3.75-4 crore nett. The drop is 60% from Friday when the normal drop is 50%. It is the sixth day so you can allow a little bit more than the normal 50% but 60% is going a bit far. It dropped more than SATYAMEVA JAYATE as it had a higher ratio of business coming from multiplexes where ticket rates drop on Monday.

Also the film is just for metros going by the Monday figures and if the other cities recorded respectable collections over the first five days it was because of the mass pull of Akshay Kumar. The film is now basically just relying on metros barring Bakri Eid on Wednesday where other cities may get a lift. The collections after six days are 74.25 crore nett for GOLD.

The extended first week business should go to around 85-86 crore nett as Wednesday should get a lift in business but the film really needed to be holding better on Monday and go over the 90 crore nett mark for week one.

GOLD had a good upturn on Tuesday as collections went up from Monday to 4.50 crore nett. This has taken the seven day total to almost 79 crore nett. The upturn  came as it is a holiday today and shows in the evenings and nigh shows jumped.

Despite the drop on Monday the film is going to helped out by Bakri Eid over the weekdays and its difficult to say where the extended week will end as a lot will depend on what sort of jump it is today for the Bakri Eid holiday. The range for the extended week is 85-90 crore nett.
