Sanju Box Office Collection Day 3: Ranbir Kapoor's Film Scores A Century. 'Demolishes' A Baahubali 2 Record Also
Box Office India Trade Network

SANJU has created history in the first weekend with the highest first weekend collections of all time for a outright Hindi film. The film collected a huge 45.50 crore nett apprx and the final numbers could make it the highest day in history for an outright Hindi film. This is without BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

The film beat Tiger Zinda Hai which which grossed a little under 115 crore nett in the first weekend. If we exclude BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION, this is the first time that a non Khan film has held the weekend record since 2008 when the Akshay Kumar starrer SINGH IS KINNG set a record for the first weekend. That film became the first film to cross 25 crore nett and in ten years collections have gone up almost five fold.

The collections of SANJU for the first weekend are as follows
Friday - 34,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 38,25,00,000 apprx.
Sunday - 45,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,17,75,00,000 apprx

The trend is fantastic in most parts of the country which will mean a good hold on Monday. The only thing is multiplex ticket rates are coming down and most of the biggest films have usually kept rates at weekend levels especially the ones with good word of mouth like this.

The film will be the biggest HIT of the year and possibly a HISTORIC grosser but keeping tickets at weekend rates would have helped that cause as its about getting that little bit extra for every footfall.
