For John Abraham and his debutante leading lady Aisha Sharma, a song shoot for their upcoming film, Satyameva Jayate,
doubled up as a community service session recently. The
vigilante-action-thriller’s leads were filming “Paniyon Sa” at the
Erangal beach in Madh Island, when a sequence that required them to pick
up trash from the beach was added to lend the song some topicality.
Incidentally, Mumbai’s beach clean drive recently picked up momentum
again with volunteers and celebrities assembling at Juhu and Versova
beaches.
A source from the sets reveals, “The idea was to film a romantic song by the beach, but it was littered with garbage. Since the team had to wrap up quickly as high tide was expected later in the day, the actors, who’d arrived for an early morning shift, joined the crew in cleaning the spot. Later, it became a part of the song.” The track has been sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam and Tulsi Kumar for the film which is set for an Independence Day release.
Director Milap Zaveri told Mirror, “There is a lovely moment in the song where John and Aisha meet during the beach cleaning drive. Both took the activity seriously and actually cleaned the beach in the shots.”
