Ali Fazal's romantic endeavour in his school in Lucknow

The shooting schedule of Prassthanam taking Ali Fazal to hometown Lucknow was enough reason to pride himself, but the cherry on the top for the actor is bagging a chance to film in his school. Fazal, along with co-actor Amyra Dastur, serenaded each other while shooting at the La Martiniere boys’ school, where the actor was once a student.

Evidently nostalgic to return to the university, Fazal tells mid-day, “For anyone, his/her school brings back many memories. To return there as a working individual and shoot a film feels unreal. My school hasn’t changed at all. I loved every bit of it, the royal structure, teachers and its culture.”

Given that the shoot was conducted on a non-working day, Fazal says he was unable to interact with the staff members, but hopes to return to meet them. The song sequence saw the duo dance in the corridors and on the school grounds.

The actor has been stationed in the North Indian city since the beginning of June to film the actioner, a remake of the Telugu film by the same name. Indian-American director Deva Katta’s venture also features Sanjay Dutt and Satyajeet Dubey.
