Actor-duo to kick off the next schedule of Ayan Mukerji’s film in Mumbai

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt who kicked off Ayan Mukerji’s third directorial, the fantasy adventure Brahmastra, in February, are gearing up to resume work in Mumbai next Wednesday. On Friday, the leads resumed prep with their director and co-star Amitabh Bachchan, who joins the team in the upcoming schedule. The meeting happened at Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow and lasted a couple of hours as the actors discussed their scenes and exchanged ideas with Ayan.

A source close to the development revealed to Mirror, “Ranbir, Alia and team are gearing up to shoot the Mumbai schedule on a grand set that has been erected at Mehboob studio. The week-long schedule will see the cast wrap up several action sequences. Alia will be juggling between the shoot of Brahmastra and Abhishek Varman’s Kalank that is also being shot in the city currently.”

In July the Brahmastra team heads back to Bulgaria to wrap up the film, where another cast member Mouni Roy will also be joining in.

Alia, who had injured her shoulder during the previous Bulgaria schedule which put her out of action for weeks, is being cautious about the action sequences this time on the doctor’s advice to avoid aggravating the injury.

In January, Alia and Ranbir had trained with Israeli fitness trainer and movement coach Ido Portal in Tel Aviv as part of prep before kickstarting the film. Set in modern-day India, Brahmastra is the first film in the series and revolves around wisdom and powers drawn from ancient Indian culture.
