The leads of Sajid Khan’s upcoming directorial, along with their co-stars, are heading to Rajasthan in August to shoot flashback sequences in the comedy caper’s second schedule

Unlike previous instalments of Housefull, which were predominantly shot in London, the fourth film, which marks original director Sajid Khan’s return to the franchise, will feature major portions in Rajasthan. Mirror has learnt that the film’s cast — Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde and Chunky Panday — is set to travel to the desert state to kick off the second schedule after the film goes on the floors in July in London. Revolving around the theme of reincarnation, the film follows a non-linear narrative and all the flashback sequences will be shot in Rajasthan.

A source connected to the Sajid Nadiadwala production reveals, “The first schedule is of 25 days and kicks off in mid-July followed by the team moving to Rajasthan to shoot the past-life portions in a monthlong schedule. The actors will be seen in a rustic look that is being planned in great detail. The flashbacks are set in a time when India was ruled by kings. A grand set is also being built in Mumbai for the last schedule.”

Speaking about the new additions, the source adds that besides Kriti Kharbanda, yesteryear villain Ranjeet, who has been referenced in the earlier Housefull films, is also in talks for a special turn. Boman Irani is also expected to come on board shortly. The team plans to wrap up the film by November, so there won’t be breaks between schedules.

Sajid, who had directed the first two instalments, is returning to the franchise after being replaced by Sajid-Farhad for the third film.
