In recent times, power couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol have lent support to various social causes. Just last year, Ajay became the goodwill ambassador for Smile Foundation, an NGO that has been instrumental in supporting education for girls and women’s empowerment. Kajol, meanwhile, supports the Help A Child Reach 5 campaign which generates awareness about the significance of washing hands with soap to prevent deaths among kids below the age of five.

Now, the star jodi will come together to champion the cause of plastic ban in Maharashtra. The stay on the ban of plastic bags in Maharashtra will end on June 23, after which any person found using them will have to pay the fine imposed by the authorities. Says a source, “Ajay and Kajol are environmentally conscious. They were extremely happy to put their weight behind such an initiative. They are likely to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis soon.” Ajay and Kajol are also expected to be present on July 22 for the exhibition, which is being organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to find an alternative to plastic bags.
