Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn screws up his face in pain every time the camera is switched off. The two-time National Award winner is shooting in Mumbai’s Chandivali Studio for Luv Ranjan’s romantic saga directed by Akiv Ali. His co-stars Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh are unaware of his discomfiture because the actor is being a thorough professional and doing his scenes effortlessly. However, the moment the director shouts ‘cut’, Ajay literally collapses into a chair because he is in acute pain.

A source on the set says, “Ajay has a tennis elbow or Lateral Epicondylitis as it is called. And he is in so much pain, he can’t even lift his hand to pick up a cup of coffee. The actor has been experiencing pain in his heel, too. However, he has to finish the schedule because the producers (Ankur Garg and Luv Ranjan) have a set standing and they also have a combination of dates of Jimmy Sheirgill, Rakul and Tabu that they cannot afford to waste.”

One hears that while shooting for Total Dhamaal in Film City a few days ago, Ajay was wincing in pain. On noticing this, his co-actor Anil Kapoor, who apparently had suffered a similar injury, recommended that Ajay should fly to Germany for treatment. Ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, too, had tennis elbow and underwent treatment for it.

TENNIS ELBOW (LATERAL EPICONDYLITIS)
Tennis elbow is a condition in which the forearm muscles and tendons are affected. This leads to pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow. It usually develops over a period of time. Repetitive motions — like gripping a racket during a swing — can strain the muscles and put too much stress on the tendons. That constant tugging can eventually cause microscopic tears in the tissue.
