BLACKMAIL was on the expected lines as it dropped on Monday after a low weekend. The Monday collections were 1.35 crore nett apprx which is a 45% drop from Friday. A 45% drop is normal but not for film like BLACKMAIL which opened poorly. The film needed a Monday around the 2 crore nett mark and optimum is being around the first day mark.

The total collections of the film are now 11.25 crore nett with the week likely to be around 14.50-15 crore nett. This figure is the same as the HICHKI weekend which is a similar film in terms of economics. The low occupancy on Monday makes it tough for box office collections post week one as it will struggle to get screenings.

The first four collections of BLACKMAIL are as follows.
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,35,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,35,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,20,00,000 apprx

Also there is OCTOBER releasing on Friday which is for the same urban audience as BLACKMAIL and that will hit collections further.

Even a 20 crore nett total looks mission impossible after the Monday collections.
