A 15-second scene from Rajinikanth’s next Tamil film, Kaala, has leaked
online, sending shockwaves through the film industry. Buzz is, the
scene in question in which the Thalaiva is seen fighting off a goon, is
from the film’s climax. But Vinod Kumar, the film’s executive producer,
refutes the rumour. “It’s just a few seconds of footage and not even the
climax scene as is being claimed in many places. It will not affect the
film in any way,” he assures, adding that they have already filed a
complaint with the cyber cell and have a technical team to block the
link from leaking on YouTube and other websites.Kaala is set in the ’80s and tells the story of a man who comes to Mumbai from Tirunelveli and becomes the don of Dharavi. The film also features Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Pankaj Tripathi and Samuthirakani with Nana Patekar essaying the role of the antagonist.
Huma who makes her Tamil debut with the gangster drama is livid. “It’s so unfair given the hard work everyone puts into a film. Piracy is toxic and I hope the necessary action is taken.”
