South actress Bhavana married Naveen, a Kannada producer, in Thrissur, Kerala. It was a simple, traditional ceremony held at Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna temple in Bhavana’s home town of Thrissur, conducted around 9.40 am on Monday with family and close friends in attendance. After the ceremony, the couple drove down to an auditorium for the wedding feast. A reception has been arranged at Lulu Convention Centre in the evening for the film fraternity, according to a source close to the newlyweds.

Priyanka Chopra described Bhavana as a “feisty, brave and amazing woman’ and in a video message wished her a happy married life. “This is going to be a big step in your new journey and I just wanted to say good luck,” she added.

Bhavana, born Karthika Menon, and Naveen reportedly fell in love while shooting for the romcom Romeo (2012), her first Kannada film, produced by him. The couple had been dating for five years and got engaged on March 9, 2017. The bride’s Kannada film, Tagaru, directed by Duniya Soori, will open in a few weeks.
