Veteran actress Charu Rohatgi, who has featured in TV shows like Pratigya, Uttaran and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon as popular actor Barun Sobti’s grandmother, passed away in the early hours of Monday morning following cardiac arrest.

The actress, who was also seen in a pivotal role in Arjun Kapoor’s acting debut Ishaqzaade, has also made appearances in other Hindi films including 1920 London, Second Marriage Dot Com and 15 Park Avenue.

“RIP, Charu Rohatgi ma’am. Your presence in Ishaqzaade will always be recalled fondly. My prayers and strength to the family as they deal with this loss,” Arjun had shared via Twitter later in the day.

Rohatgi had started her acting career with the TV show Ladies Special and was subsequently seen in Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se, among others.
