THOR: RAGNAROK recorded the seventh highest opening ever for a Hollywood film in India and it is the second best opening this year after FAST & FURIOUS 8. Though it has to be noted that the GROSS figures are in the same range as XXX: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE at around 7.75 crore. The film started very strongly and picked up pace as the day went on which should mean a strong weekend for the film. It left the main Hindi release ITTEFAQ well behind.

FAST & FURIOUS 7 released in 2015 remains the biggest Hollywood opener in India and its looking a tough record to beat as even FAST & FURIOUS 8 could not beat it. The top ten Hollywood opening days (first full day) are as follows.
