It’s heartening to see celebrities extend support to social causes they believe in. Take Richa Chadha, for instance. The actress has always been vocal about issues that she backs. After taking a stand on the recent #MeeToo campaign, she has come forth to support a peacemaking initiative of the Indian Army that aims to create an atmosphere of peace in the face of insurgency in Assam.
It plans to do so by stressing on the education of the girl child. The cause also helps relocate people displaced due to insurgency and assists them with basic necessities. As a part of the initiative, 20 school girls from Assam arrived in Mumbai to meet Richa in their bid to create awareness about the cause. The actress spent a considerable amount of time with them at the Army Officers Institute to encourage them.
Talking about her experience, Richa told BT, “I always love interacting with people and in this case, the girls were so innocent and hopeful about the future that it was inspiring and a pleasure to spend time with them.”
