The release of Kapil Sharma's comedy period-drama Firangi, which was to hit the screens this Friday, has been postponed. According to sources close to the development, the makers are uncertain if the film will manage to keep its date with the box-office since it is yet to receive a certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film was initially announced for a November 10 release by Kapil and his team on the social media a while ago and subsequently moved to November 24. The new release date is expected to be announced later in the week.

A spokesperson from Kapil's production house, K9 Films, told Mirror, "The film has been submitted to the censor office and we are expecting a reply from them soon."

Directed by Rajiev Dhingra, Firangi features Kapil alongside actresses Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill and is set in 1920 India. The comedian-actor plays the well-meaning villager Monga, who believes that the British mean no harm. However, circumstances prove otherwise and Monga turns against them.
