Suniel Shetty
Nayandeep Rakshit (DNA; October 9, 2017)

Suniel Shetty returned to the screen after three-and-a-half years with A Gentleman. And he is raring to go. He has signed a silent film and is part of J P Dutta’s Paltan. Now, we hear, he has already shot for another film.

A KID'S FILM
Suniel asserts, “I want to take up films that are interesting, up my alley, and also suit my age.” Talking about his next, he says, “I’m doing a children’s film where I play a school principal, who is a mentor to many kids. It’s a beautiful film. The creative team is the one that has worked on Mary Kom and Neerja. It’s small, but an impactful film.”

SPECIAL CO-STARS
Suniel is happy to have a bunch of kids for co-stars. He smiles, “There are a lot of bachchas in the film with me. The film is primarily made for the kids. So, I shot with all kids who were 10 years or younger.”

BACKSTORY TOO
Talking about his role, Suniel adds, “The character is that of an orphan boy, who is adopted. He goes on to become the principal of a high-end school. The movie basically says that if given an opportunity, everyone can make it. The education system is only about ‘X’ grades and the kind of students in school, but where do the rest go? But again, it’s not a preachy film. It talks about education, class differences, but in a very fun manner.”

ALMOST DONE!
The actor further adds that he started this film much before his last release. “I am already 70 per cent done with the film’s shoot,” he concludes.
