SECRET SUPERSTAR dropped on Monday as it collected around 3 crore nett apprx. If we take the fair value collections on Friday then the drop is a little more than normal. Still despite the drop the film is okay financially as Aamir Khan is the producer and there is no cost of his role but if there it was outside producer and there was cost then it would be a different story.

The film was never going to be appreciated outside the five metros and looking at Monday figures the appreciation in the metros is also average. That is where the problem has come for the film that the metro audience has not really taken to it. Most of the country does not care for these type of films be it NEERJA or KAHAANI or DEAR ZINDAGI or now SECRET SUPERSTAR. If the appreciation is to come then its the five metros to varying degrees and this one is seems far less than a NEERJA or KAHAANI and even less than DEAR ZINDAGI. The collections of SECRET SUPERSTAR till date are as follows.

The extended first week should close above the 40 crore nett mark but then it will be a struggle and remains to be seen how much it can add post the first week.
