Nikkhil Advani is ready to roll out his next film as a director. After toying with the idea of making a film around Operation Blue Star, the filmmaker has finally zeroed in on another challenging subject. The film revolves around the Batla House encounter, which followed the 2008 serial blasts in Delhi and came under the scanner. The director will start shooting Batla House (working title) in Delhi from mid-November. It is rumoured that Abhishek Bachchan or Saif Ali Khan could headline the cast.

While Nikkhil remained tight-lipped about his actors, he told BT, “It's a controversial subject. While a big faction of people called it a fake encounter, the cops claimed otherwise. My film delves into both aspects. We'll start shooting in Delhi soon, our prep is almost done. And looking at the amount of work we have to pack in, I plan to rope in all my directors like Ranjit Tiwari (Lucknow Central) and Gauravv Chawla (Baazaar) because there could be two-three units shooting simultaneously. Batla House will have a lot of action scenes and five songs. Even though the subject is intense, I can't make a film without music.“

Bring up Hero and Katti Batti, his past two experiences as a film director which failed to impress, and he says, “My TV show revived my confidence after Hero and Katti Batti. I feel liberated right now to try something like Batla House. My team and I have been working on it after wrapping up Airlift. It's taken us four years of research - we've done interviews, collated details and collected data. It's a difficult subject.“
