BHOOMI is a poor fare which started slowly and has not really gained much over the weekend. The collections are poor across the board and there is little hope for Monday. Five years back a film called DEPARTMENT released with Sanjay Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan and was a disaster but the collections for BHOOMI are even worse than that film. NEWTON has come out the top Hindi film of the weekend due to its very strong trend. The film has not collected much but there was a huge upturn on Saturday and the film consolidated on Sunday. The film got extra screens over the weekend as the other two films which had bigger releases fared so badly. On this trend the film should easily do more than its Friday business on Monday as Friday was so low but it is weekday business that will tell if the film has something to it or is it just that Oscar factor which has got it some collections.
