Mirror had earlier reported (July 6) that Sushant Singh Rajput has already be gun prep on his next, San jay Puran Singh Chauhan's space adventure odyssey, Chandamama Door Ke. Now, we hear the makers have brought Shraddha Kapoor on-board as the actor's leading lady after a long hunt.

A source close to the development revealed to Mirror, “The story revolves around three astronauts, played by Sushant, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shraddha. The film's team is looking to begin shooting by September-end. Before that happens, Shraddha will kick off her own intensive training for the part.“ Sushant had recently returned from a training stint at the US Space and Rocket Center (Alabama) where he participated in various workshops to understand the life of an astronaut. His training included sessions on the technicalities of flying a space shuttle simulator (Lunar ModuleMars Lander simulation), experiencing zero gravity, wearing a professional space suit, flying a multi-axis trainer and docking the shuttle to the ISS. Chandamama Door Ke will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad as well as in international studios.

If industry rumours are anything to go by, Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Chandamama Door Ke finally has a leading lady. Shraddha Kapoor, who was amongst the top contenders for the part, has been roped in to play the female lead in the Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan-directed space odyssey.

A unit hand tells mid- day, “The female lead had to be someone who is willing to take a risk. The film requires the actress to transform physically — she has to sport short hair. This was proving to be a deterrent for most actresses, who auditioned for the part, since they wouldn’t be able to do any other film at the same time. With Haseena Parkar, Shraddha has made it clear that she is up for experimental roles. She doesn’t have any inhibitions about chopping her hair for the film and is excited about the challenge.”

The film is expected to go on floors later this year. When we reached out to producer Viki Rajani and officials at Eros International, they refused to comment.
