Between working on Nikkhil Advani’s Baazaar and Sriram Raghavan’s Shoot The Piano Player, actress Radhika Apte found time to buy a new house. It is a stone’s throw away from her previous one in Versova, where she lived with Brit musician-husband Benedict Taylor. She has now taken it upon herself to do up the interiors.

“The new apartment is bigger than the previous one. Radhika had been looking for a place for quite some time before she chanced upon this one and loved it. She moved in only a couple of days ago and Tuesday night was a party to mark this occasion with close friends, including Kalki Koechlin. She then flew out of the country for a work commitment,” a source revealed to Mirror, adding that the actress has painted a part of the new house herself in her favourite colour, aquamarine, and plans to adorn it with things she has picked up on her travels.

Radhika confirmed the news to Mirror, saying, “It is definitely a great feeling to buy this space. I’m not in town right now but I can’t wait to spend more time in the new house and decorate it myself.”

The actress, who shuttles between Mumbai and London, through the year, had told us in an earlier interview (March 1), “In Mumbai, even if you decide to take a day off, something or the other comes up. But in London, I can snooze, watch movies in bed, go for walks, meet friends or simply do nothing.” Will the new house bring her the much coveted change of pace? Only time will tell.
