The 2015 horror film, Alone, which made Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover a couple, is set for a sequel. But the now married duo will not stage a return in the lead. However, the makers will be approaching Bipasha for a special appearance.

A source associated with the project reveals that the plan is to have a fresh cast for the second installment in the franchise. While the casting is still underway, producer Kumar Mangat left for London last week for the recce. Once he is back, the leads will be finalised. When Mirror contacted Mangat he refused to divulge details, simply stating, “Yes, there is something happening.“

The original is a remake of the 2007 Thai film by the same name. It was remade three years later as a south film, Chaarulatha. The muse for all the three films is the My Brothers Keeper episode from the second season of the TV show Tales From The Crypt. It had Bipasha in a double role playing conjoined twins, Sanjana and Anjana, with Karan as Kabir, the former's husband. The couple starting dating while shooting and tied the knot on April 30, 2016.
