After Rustom and Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar and KriArj Entertainment - founded by Prernaa Arora, Arjun N Kapoor and Virendra Arora - have teamed up for the third time, for Pad Man. The film will be presented by Twinkle Khanna's banner, Mrs Funnybones Movies. Excited about the collaboration, Prernaa says, “Pad Man is Mrs Funnybones' film; Twinkle has written the story and is also creatively involved. In fact, she has taken it to another level. We're very grateful to Twinkleji and Akshay sir for choosing us to present this film with them.“

The credit for all their associations so far, Prernaa says, goes to Akshay. “The films are all his initiatives. We are learning from him how to choose a subject and then take it ahead. Gone are the days of dancing around the trees; today's cinema portrays real issues that both urban and rural India face. They offer food for thought and convey a message through the medium of entertainment. By highlighting grass root issues like women's protection and joining initiatives like Swacchh Bharat, he is taking Indian Cinema to the next level,“ she adds.

Point out to her that both Toilet - Ek Prem Katha and Pad Man address women-centric issues, and she agrees, “Akshay sir wants to reach out to women, especially outside Mumbai and other big cities, and understand the issues they face. It's his way of giving back to society. He wants their problems to be national talking points.“
