Ranveer Singh recently set social media abuzz with a quirky music video of him wooing Ileana D’Cruz to promote the actress and his bestie Arjun Kapoor’s upcoming romcom, Mubarakan. The duo is seen shaking a leg to the iconic “Hawa Hawa” track by Pakistani pop star Hasan Jahangir which has been recreated for the Anees Bazmee film.

Speaking to Mirror, the 30-year-old actress insists that Ranveer has all the qualities of a director after observing him during the shoot. “Varun (Dhawan) had already uploaded his take on the track and Ranveer wanted to do something funnier. He was dubbing in the same studio as Arjun and me and he waltzed in, informing us that he wanted to shoot a video too. By the time he returned from the dubbing, he had the whole shoot planned,” Ileana recalls.

She had initially thought he was joking but was mighty impressed when she saw him in director mode, shooting off instructions to her, while Arjun looked on. “It was really cute. I haven’t done a film with him yet but this video gave me a glimpse of how wonderful a director he could be,” the actress says.

Over the last two years, Ranveer has been credited with co-conceptualising several campaigns he has been a part of and often sits in on script sessions, contributing extensively to the narrative.
