Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have become global stars today. Both made impressive debuts in two different Hollywood films earlier this year. They made their presence felt on magazine covers, billboards and chat shows.
They sat on TFR (the front row) of fashion week for top designers and attended big events like the Met Gala. Now, it’s Amy Jackson’s time to do the same. Amy has just finished work on her Indo-English project Boogie Man. “It was lovely to shoot the film. My character has an Indian connection in the film,” she says.
International aspirations
Amy might take on more work on foreign land. She says, “I loved a few scripts when I was in Los Angeles. I have got my agency over there and I did a few castings, met some directors and producers. It’s a totally different ball game.”
Comparisons with DP-PC
Amy understands that she will be pitted against DP and PC. But she feels that wouldn’t be fair. Amy adds, “I am passionate about my acting. It’s not competition for me at all. I’m not competing with Deepika or Priyanka. I look up to them as inspiration. Priyanka has been in the industry for a lot longer than Deepika and me. Even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is someone, who I have always appreciated and respected. It motivates me more than feeling pressurised. It makes me want to a work hard to achieve my dreams and goals.”
