Sidharth Malhotra
Nayandeep Rakshit (DNA; June 16, 2017)

While his colleagues Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez are straddling both mediums — television and film, Sidharth Malhotra is not keen to explore the world of the small screen just yet. The actor explains why he’s not ready to attempt anything other than films at the moment. “I’m too obsessed with proving myself in movies right now — taking up different genres, getting bigger films and telling better stories.”

Besides, like the Kapoor & Sons star points out, “I don’t have the time to do TV.” He is currently working on A Gentleman with Jacqueline Fernandez and Ittefaq opposite Sonakshi Sinha. However, the actor believes in never-say-never and is open to the idea of hosting a TV show someday. Sid explains why it is something he will attempt at a later stage, “Television has a great reach and market, and you get to connect with your audience every day.”

But he doesn’t want to indiscriminately sign shows. He is very clear about that, “You need to find something that will match your personality.” He might be interested in something that is in sync with his interests. “Something with outdoor sports, that’s physical or adventurous.” A stunt-based reality show would be a match but he feels, “That has been done too many times (laughs). So maybe, we can start a new franchise altogether.”

Sidharth is also open to doing a web series. ”If there’s a role, I would love to give it a try,” he concludes.
