It was a moment of stardom for the nation as Irrfan toured the international circuit with his 2016 Hollywood thriller, 'Inferno', alongside American actor Tom Hanks. A year after playing a supporting role in the Ron Howard-directed project, Irrfan has been cast in another American outing, Marc Turtletaub's Puzzle, but this time as the leading man.

After delivering the commercially successful 'Hindi Medium', Irrfan, who is currently in New York, will soon start shooting for the film that stars Bubba Weiler (The Good Fight), Austin Abrams (Paper Towns fame) and Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet).

A source close to the actor tells mid-day, "Even before Irrfan could celebrate the success of Hindi Medium, he had to take off to New York. The film follows a woman in her 40s, who is occupied with caring for the men in her family. When she discovers that she has a gift for assembling puzzles, her world begins to open up and her family is forced to adjust and grow as well. It's a 45-day schedule." Puzzle reportedly is an adaptation of the 2010 Argentine outing, Rompecabezas.

As the 50-year-old actor continues to signs films on foreign shores, he also has a fair share of projects back home. He recently wrapped up Abhinay Deo's Raita, and Tanuja Chandra's Kareeb Kareeb Single, starring Parvathy Menon. After his return, he will prep for his next with Vishal Bhardwaj.
