Veteran actress Tanuja, while promoting her upcoming TV show, Aarambh, was caught off guard when questioned about the recent beef controversy surrounding her actress-daughter Kajol. The 73-year-old matriarch started off by exclaiming, “Stop! Stop! Stop!” going on to point out that she had acted in the Rajesh Khanna-starrer, Haathi Mere Saathi, and she loved animals. “I was in love with the haathi. But don’t deviate. Stick to Aarambh.”

Last week, Kajol had unwittingly found herself in the eye of an online storm after she posted a video from her lunch date with friends, which had the chef identifying the delicacies on the table. The actress had to issue a clarification, stating that the dish that had caused the stir, was actually buffalo meat, which is legal, as opposed to beef.
