The makers of Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil film Kaala Karikaalan on Sunday confirmed that Nana Patekar has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film, which features Huma Qureshi as an older woman. For her part, the actress will be seen sporting cotton saris and grey hair.

Shooting of the Pa Ranjith-directed film began in Mumbai on Sunday. Announcing the full cast in a statement, the makers revealed that Nana, apart from a bevy of supporting actors, plays an important role.

The film, produced by Rajini's son-in-law Dhanush, also features Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil. Shooting in Mumbai is expected to continue for the next 40 days.
